Annual CVAP Sponsored Philanthropic Activities

CVAP, as well as our individual members, are extremely active within each of our communities.  As a group, we typically sponsor 5 annual and continuing philanthropic activities:

    Fall and/or Spring Fundraising Events
    Patron Program
    Books for Children Project
    Santa's Toys Drive
    Dollars for Scholars

Annual Christmas Gift Drive

Each year the CVAP donates unwrapped gifts and/or clothes to a desert charity that supports needy families and children.

Annual Books for Children Project

Each year the CVAP "Books for Children" project partners with a school or charitable entity to either help establish or supplement their children's library. Based on the book and author recommendations of the chosen partner, CVAP collects new or like-new books along with monetary donations. In 2023, CVAP donated 357 books and $635.00 in cash to Loma Linda University Children's Hospital Foundation (LLUCHF) in Indio.  At LLUCHF, the books are used as a patient diversionary item and children are also given a book of their choice to take home. "Books for Children" has been one of our most impactful projects for over 20 years.

Philanthropic Efforts in our Communities

CVAP promotes philanthropic efforts in our communities. Many of our monthly program speakers are invited to speak in depth about their nonprofit organization. We also include the name of the philanthropy of each NPC member sorority in our annual roster and showcase nonprofit organizations in our newsletter.  Many of our members are active within their local sorority alumnae chapters supporting their individual community service organizations.
